Theodor Geisel, the author of the enduringly popular rhyming children’s book series who wrote under the pen name Dr. Seuss, died more than 20 years ago. Thanks to a newly-discovered illustrated manuscript, however, a new Dr. Seuss book is about to be published.
Random House Children’s Books announced on Wednesday that it will publish “What Pet Should I Get?” on July 28.
The company’s associate publishing director Cathy Goldsmith says the book was likely written between 1958 and 1962. CNBC reports that it “features the same brother and sister seen in Dr. Seuss’ 1960 classic ‘One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.’” Full Story
This is really a cool thing! Dr. Suess was certainly an original and will always be timeless due to his unique style of story telling. The article further stated that Random House has a few more Dr. Suess books on the way that his widow and secretary found in his old house, though they didn’t reveal any more information that that.
