This week’s Movie of the Week is Prehistoric Beast. It’s about an imagined Tyrannosaurus Rex and the film was released in 1984. The success of this shorter film (about 10 minutes) led to a full-length television documentary about dinosaurs in 1985, called Dinosaur! By today’s standards the effects don’t seem all that great, but at the time these came out they were quite good. In fact, Dinosaur! Won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Visual Effects in 1986. Continue reading
